?In the Teatro Perez Galdos in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a new production of Richard Wagner's opera, Tannhäuser, choosing to stage director Katharina Wagner, great granddaughter of the composer and artist closely related to the Bayreuth Festival productions. Tannhäuser is an opera in three acts, first performed in Dresden in 1845, based on the two German legends of Tannhäuser and the song contest at Wartburg. The main themes of the opera is the struggle between sacred and profane love, and redemption through love. DAYS 11, 14 AND 17 JULY 2009
